Multi-skilled Engineer

Role Profile

Reporting into the Head of Engineering, the role is varied in terms of building our new systems in Kidlington as part of an engineering team and support the installation, commissioning, and servicing of new systems at customer’s site. Once our systems are on a customer’s site, you will undertake planned preventative maintenance and provide reactive technical support to customer sites when required.

There will also be a requirement to support customer trials currently underway and in the future, within the EU and globally which will involve the running and maintenance of mobile production systems. The role also includes supporting R&D related projects at our development unit in Kidlington.

You need to be proficient with industrial electrical systems along with practical skills in terms of being involved in the assembly of our systems which involve mechanical content such as piping, instrumentation, pumps and assembly/ fitting. Familiarisation of PLC’s and able to fault find within a PLC programme along with familiarity to industrial instrumentation such as flow meters, temperature meters and potentially UV sensors would be advantageous in this role.

Key Requirements for the role include:

• Experience working as a multi-skilled engineer with electrical and mechanical skillset
• Able to work unsupervised and interpret engineering and electrical drawings for a physical build and service maintenance of a new chemical production system
• Hold mechanical, electrical & engineering qualifications
• Ideally have related training to all workshop skills, fitting / assembly/ electrical panel build. Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings
• Reactive and preventative industrial maintenance experience
• Experience of working on a customer’s site, preparation of RAMS and other site-specific requirements
• Provide excellent customer service as an Ozo representative when at a customer’s site
• Undertake fault finding, problem solving, establish root cause and find solutions
• Good at working within an engineering team with multiple engineering disciplines

• Proactive and innovative -The role can involve creative ways to overcome an engineering issue and use of own initiative if involved in R&D projects
• This is a varied engineering role requiring a high degree of flexibility

Personal Attributes

• Technically trained, practical engineer able to read electrical schematics and system installation drawings, engineering drawings, P&ID’s
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing
• Good team player, able to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and sub-contractors
• Organised, able to manage time and prioritise tasks
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated
• Valid UK Driving Licence is mandatory
• Previous equipment installation and commissioning experience ideally in the food manufacturing industry would be advantageous
• Health & Safety first mindset

Desirable

• IET 18th Edition trained and qualified
• Forklift trained
• PLC programming knowledge, Schneider preferable
• Completed apprenticeship
• First Aid trained
• Plastic welding and PVCu solvent welding

What We Offer

• Salary of £40,000 – £44,000 per annum (based on experience)
• Company van at a later date, once system / site ownership has been identified
• Discretionary annual bonus of 5% of salary
• Contributory salary sacrifices pension scheme up to 5% of salary

• 37.5hr working week with potential for overtime
